Responsibilities

The Network Engineer will support the instructors, students, and team management by providing technical support in the operations and maintenance of the learning technology training systems.  Experience with Enterprise networks, sponsor accreditation process and preparing documentation sufficient to gain approval of SSP’s are a requirement for this position. 

Responsibilities include but. are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with learning enterprise partners
  • Develop and document procedures to image and maintain Mac and PC products in a wireless and wired environment
  • Develop and maintain all software installed on Mac and PC devices
  • Maintain the current enterprise supported releases of software to Mac and PC devices as well as servers
  • Document Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) activities
  • Provide support to servers and desktop computers
  • Perform system support tasks
  • Work recommended new network technologies
  • Collaborate with the vendors
  • Tend to the day-to-day needs and maintenance of servers and desktops to include backup and restore procedures
  • Design and configure workstations and iPads as needed
  • Coordinate Microsoft and Apple support
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings
  • Help the sponsor create current state of the art platform and brief such to varying levels of management
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in systems support with servers and desktop configurations, PC and Mac based devices to include laptops, iPads, MacBooks and tablets
  • Demonstrated experience with installing applications on Windows servers and desktops
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of loads to new devices to be included in the network via tools such as Meraki (Cisco)
  • Experience and knowledge with server environments coupled with video recording equipment
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and MS Office products
  • Demonstrated experience deploying software via SCCM or MECM
  • Experience with third party products used for applying updates and deploying products
  • Demonstrated experience with handling the configuration and maintaining of Apple Devices and Apple TV connectivity to PC and Mac devices to enable delivery of training courses/programs
  • Knowledge of the customer’s systems authorization and accreditation process
  • Experience in system support skills, desktop support, and server support such as Microsoft and Linux user support; patching servers and desktops with latest sponsor releases
  • Knowledge of Cisco Meraki
  • Ability to provide Tier 1 support on technical and performance related issues
  • Ability to coordinate information flow between programs, organizational managers, and end users
  • Ability to establish functional and technical standards, solve hardware and software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem
  • Provides a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components
  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate strong people skills
